Lip Blush: How To Prepare & Aftercare
Aftercare Instructions
Following proper aftercare ensures long-lasting results:
- Keep lips clean and dry for the first 24 hours
- Apply the recommended ointment as needed to keep lips lightly moisturized
- Avoid touching, picking, or peeling the lips
- Avoid spicy, salty, or acidic foods for the first few days
- Drink through a straw when possible
- Avoid kissing, friction, and excessive moisture during healing
- No workouts, sweating, or swimming for 5–7 days
- Avoid direct sun exposure
The Healing Process
- Days 1–3: Color will appear more intense than expected
- Days 3–5: Lips may feel dry and begin to lightly flake
- Days 5–10: Color will soften and fade
- Weeks 2–6: Color gradually returns and settles into its true shade
- By 6–8 weeks: Lips are fully healed
Healing varies — allow the process to happen naturally.
Maintaining Your Results
Lip blush is semi-permanent and will fade over time.
- A touch-up at 6–8 weeks is recommended to perfect the color
- Keep lips hydrated daily
- Use SPF on the lips to maintain color
- Avoid frequent exfoliation or harsh treatments
- Plan for a refresh every 1–2 years, depending on your lifestyle
